Welcome to Cwm Hedd Lakes

About us

Cwm Hedd is a seven acre, spring fed lake situated on the outskirts of Newport, just two minutes from junction 28 of the M4.

Set in its own tranquil valley, the fishery has a well deserved reputation for the quality of both its trout and facilities. Trout are stocked weekly and sourced from Exmoor Fisheries in Somerset, at weights ranging from 21/2lb upwards. There are forty wooden platforms, eight of which are designed for those anglers who are less able or disabled.

A gravel based wading area off the southeast bank, and the island reached by a pontoon bridge, are popular 'hotspots' and add much to that feeling of the great outdoors. Boat hire is available for those anglers who wish to fish the deepest parts of the lake.

The fishing lodge, with its woodburning stove, is a great place to take a break - hot and cold food and beverages can be purchased,or alternatively anglers can bring their own. Tackle is available for sale or hire and our friendly team are ready to advise on the best patterns, lines and tactics.
